What causes combustion to occur?

Air, fuel and heat must be present for combustion to occur.

  • Burn only seasoned wood

  • Burn only white paper not glossy, use a fire starter preferably.

  • Burn hard wood-Oak and fruit trees.

  • One ton of pellets is equal to 2,000 pounds (pellet bags are generally 40 pounds)

  • Wood stoves are not usually measured by BTU's as efficiencies rely on:

  1. Type of wood

  2. Condition of wood

  3. Amount of wood

  4. High ceilings

  5. Insulation

  6. Open area

  7. Burning habits
